Friends of the Library Lecture | "Conversational Chemistry" with Dr. Stephanie Borrie
Friends of the Library Lecture | Conversational Chemistry: The Science Behind Conversation
📅 Wednesday, October 29 · 7:00 PM
📍 Merrill-Cazier Library, Room 101
Conversations shape how we connect, collaborate, and build relationships—but they are more complex than they seem. In this lecture, Dr. Stephanie Borrie, professor of speech pathology and director of the Human Interaction Lab at Utah State University, explores the science behind successful conversation. Drawing from her research with individuals affected by neurological speech disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke, Borrie reveals the behavior patterns that foster meaningful communication, why disruptions occur, and how we can work together to improve conversational success.
